About Butterfly Clicking
- Butterfly clicking rests two fingers on one button and alternates them like a drum roll, so each finger only needs half the tapping speed.
- Use your own previous runs as a baseline, keeping input type, target, duration and technique the same.
- Button feel, device settings and browser input processing can affect results. Keep the same setup for comparisons; this test does not rank mouse hardware.
- Compare techniques in separate runs with the same mouse and duration. Record which technique you used; the counter cannot determine it automatically.
- Some Minecraft servers ban or limit butterfly clicking because certain mice 'double-click' with it; know your server's rules before relying on the technique.
- Butterfly clicking is gentler on the forearm than jitter clicking, but rapid drumming still deserves breaks - stop if your fingers cramp or ache.
What the butterfly click test measures
Butterfly results depend heavily on the mouse switch and your two-finger rhythm, so compare runs on the same mouse and duration.
Use a real mouse - the technique physically requires a button both fingers can share. Trackpads and touchscreens cannot reproduce it.
What unusual results can mean
Short or uneven intervals can reflect technique, device settings or browser event delivery. They do not by themselves diagnose hardware or identify a clicking technique.

How do I butterfly click?
Rest both your index and middle finger lightly on the left button and alternate them rapidly, like drumming on a table. Keep the wrist relaxed and let the fingers do the work - a loose, even rhythm scores better than frantic tension.
What CPS is good for butterfly clicking?
There is no universal CPS grade. Compare completed timed runs with the same input type, target, duration and technique; this tool does not rate gaming ability.
Why do some servers ban butterfly clicking?
Allowed clicking techniques depend on the game and server rules. Check those rules; this test cannot certify compliance or predict anti-cheat behavior.

Does butterfly clicking damage the mouse?
